POEM TITLE: The Deal

As I walk across the side walk

My black hoodie covers my face

The crescent moon shines as the stars dance in the sky

As the street lights flicker

In the distance I see a beautiful woman

I see she is shivering and that she is scared

She’s so young and so pretty

As I reach my hand into my pocket

I feel the saran wrap on my fingers

I see her also reach her hands into her pocket

As I come closer and closer I see her more clearly

She looks eager but not so pretty anymore

I see she has been picking at her face along with her high cheek bones

She’s so frail and so skinny

She pulls out crinkled one dollar bills and pennies fall to the ground

As she struggles to pick them up I remain still

As she stands back up she hands me the money and I hand her the meth

I morn about the woman

How I am ruining her life

The feelings of my actions make me feel

As if I have meet Satan face to face

I wonder if she has hit her pink cloud yet

Does it matter to her

It’s weird I have sold meth

To a lot of people

But I saw something else in her eyes

Greif sadness and guilt

If only I could take back

The Deal
