POLICY ANALYSIS AND SUPPORT

Juvenile justice agencies often need to address education reform and improvement by revising policy issues at the agency or legislative level. Absent critical policy reform, day-to-day improvements and technical solutions stall. At CEEAS we work with agencies to identify key policy barriers to implementing meaningful education reform and then provide research and support in addressing the policy challenges. Examples of our policy work include helping the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs convert its schools to public charter schools in light of ongoing challenges with then-current education providers, working with a number of state juvenile justice agencies to assess their teacher pay and state employee classification system, and helping agencies analyze and revise long-standing policies surrounding Internet access and technology use.
